Treatment is completed in two visits: the initial session, and a refinement session once fully healed.
Trained and overseen in house. Areola restoration at INKED is directed by our founder, Janelle Finseth, who holds AAM Board Certification and has completed advanced training dedicated specifically to areola and nipple restoration. Every artist performing this service is trained to her standard and signed off before taking a client.
We treat areola restoration as its own specialty, not as an add-on to cosmetic tattoo services.
Insurance and coverage. Under the Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act, nipple and areola restoration after mastectomy is treated as part of breast reconstruction and may be covered by your plan. We work with a medical tattooing billing service that submits claims on your behalf, and we can provide documentation if your plan requires you to submit directly. Coverage varies, so we review your options during your consultation.
Consultations for areola restoration are always complimentary and never rushed.
