FAQ

Are cosmetic tattoos permanent?

Cosmetic tattoos will last 1-3 years depending on the guests skin type and commitment to the aftercare. Unlike traditional body tattoos, the pigment is deposited in the upper layers of the skin which will require color boost sessions, when the pigment has faded.

What should I expect?

Cosmetic tattoo services are 2 visit procedures. The initial session, healing period, then the perfecting session, and healing period. During the healing period, there are specific aftercare instructions that when followed, help the skin heal properly to prepare for the perfecting session. The first few days after the service, the pigment will darken significantly. The next step in the healing phase, you’ll notice small skin scales that will fall off naturally. Mild itching is common during this phase. Then you’ll hit the ghosting phase, which is when the pigment is no longer noticeable. This will last several weeks until you hit the date for your perfecting session. At that second session, the perfecting session, your artist will layer more pigment into the skin to even out any patchiness and enhance the overall look. It’s important to understand what to expect so you aren’t surprised with the healing process. The second reservation is required to complete the service and receive the best healed results. You will go through a similar healing phase after the perfecting session. Healed results are often seen 6-8 weeks following the perfecting session. It’s very important to follow the aftercare instructions given by your artist following both visits.

Is it painful?

Most guests experience only mild discomfort during the services. We do numb the brows and lips before the services and during.

How long does it take?

Eyeliner is the shortest of the services and takes around one hour and 30 minutes to complete. Brows typically take 2-3 hours. For lips, you can expect 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Perfecting Sessions are needed approximately 6-8 weeks following the initial session. These second visits are required as cosmetic tattoos are a 2 visit procedure to achieve the best healed results. Plan for the same amount of time as the initial session.
